Jonathan Taylor elected to tourism board of directors

jttaylorJonathan “JT” Taylor, assistant director of Livingston Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), has been elected to a two-year term on the board of the Southeast Tourism Society (STS), according to STS President and CEO Bill Hardman.
JT, who has been at the Livingston Parish CVB since 2013, will serve on the STS boards through 2019.
Taylor completed his third and final year of STS Marketing College this past May in Dahlonega, Georgia, where he received his Tourism Marketing’ Professional certification.
“I have had the privilege of meeting some great people through STS, and I am looking forward to serving on the their board of directors,” Taylor said. “STS Marketing College opened my eyes and has given me a positive perspective on Livingston Parish. Sure there are improvements that need to be made, just like anywhere, but I believe we are taking positive steps forward, and I’m excited to see what the future holds. I hope to bring what I have learned back to Livingston Parish and work with local organizations and leaders to make our parish an even greater place to visit and live.”
STS, headquartered in Atlanta, promotes travel and tourism throughout a 12-state region. Tourism ranks as a top five industry in every state in the Southeast. Member states are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
The organization has more than 900 members who represent over 27,000 professionals in state tourism departments, convention and visitors bureaus, attractions, accommodations, media and additional organizations in the tourism industry.
