Chamber Expo served up information and a cook-off

expoThe 2017 Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce Expo May 2 feature booths where visitors could pick up information about participating businesses, healthcare providers, non-profit agencies, government agencies, and more. Attendance was estimated at about 1,200-1,500 people for the event at Suma Center in Satsuma. Flood resources and a job fair were also available.
“Stirrin’ the Pot” Cook-off
Representatives from six of the nine parish council districts participated in the 2017 “Stirrin’ the Pot” Cook-off at the expo. Entries were cook’s choice and there was a variety of dishes to judge. John Wascom of District 4 won the VENDORS CHOICE Award with his smoked salmon. Jeff Ard of District 1 won the COMMUNITY CHOICE Award for raising the most money for his Community Cause, St. Jude’s.

June 22 – Leadership Livingston Class of 2017 graduation and project presentation is June 22, 6:30-8 pm. at Suma Center, Satsuma. A Leadership alumni social precedes at 5:30-6:30 p.m. RSVP required.
June 28 – Leads & Learn for Lunch, 11:30-1:00, Islamorada Fish Company (located inside Bass Pro); networking event for Chamber members; RSVP required.
June 30 – Livingston Young Professionals membership open sign-up. The LYP creates opportunities for young leaders to build relationships, expand their skills and advance their careers in the business community while continuing to promote economic development within Livingston Parish. Open to ages 21-40.

“I’m In” with the Central Chamber of Commerce
Central Chamber of Commerce is offering members participation in their “I’m In” campaign which spotlights local businesses, promotes local commerce and is one example of the benefits of being a Chamber of Commerce member. Annual banquet planned in Jackson
